Matthew Saxton received his doctorate in library and information science from UCLA. Prior to coming to UW, he worked as a reference librarian in academic, public, and special library environments. He teaches courses on reference work and research methods. His primary research interest is in the evaluation of information services. He accepted the position of Associate Dean in 2007.
