Internships

The Information School faculty recognizes that education must extend beyond the formal classroom, and thus we encourage students to participate in experiential learning opportunities.

MSIM internships are structured around a course (IMT 590) and are designed to provide students with an opportunity to work in an information environment under the supervision of an experienced professional mentor. During the internship placement, the student works to meet meaningful learning objectives that have been mutually defined by student and internship supervisor.

The purpose of this guide is to describe the prerequisites, requirements, procedures, and guidelines for creating a positive and constructive MSIM internship. The following links and forms provide in-depth information on MSIM internships.
