Applying to the MSIM Program

The Online Application Opens September 1

The MSIM online application opens annually on September 1. Admission is for Autumn Quarter only. To be considered for admission, applicants must complete and submit the UW Graduate School online application. We encourage prospective applicants from diverse backgrounds and professional experiences to apply.

Day MSIM Program Deadline

• Priority deadline for U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents: January 15
• International Applicant deadline: November 1

  If you need an F-1 visa:

  You must apply by this deadline because of the additional processing time required. We cannot guarantee full consideration for applications received from international applicants after November 1.   If you are already living in the US with an "H" type or "L" type visa or are a permanent resident:

  You can apply by the January 15 deadline. Please note that you are still considered an international student in terms of submitting the additional materials required of international students (official transcripts to the Information School and the Graduate School, financial documentation, and English proficiency test). Executive MSIM Program Deadline

• Priority deadline for U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents: May 1 Note: Applications received after May 1 will be considered on a space-available basis.
• International Applicant deadline: November 1

What requirements do I need to apply?

All applicants to the MSIM program must meet the following basic requirements:

• Bachelors degree or higher (must be equivalent to a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution)
• Grade point average of 3.0 or higher (some exceptions considered)

Applicants to the Executive MSIM Program must meet this additional requirement:

• Professional experience with information technology or management (3 years minimum)
