Technology Workshops for New Residential MLIS Students
Monday, September 21, 2009 and/or Tuesday, September 22, 2009
RSVP by August 28th.
In order to meet the needs of new students who are not familiar with many of the UW specific network tools and resources that are basics for communication and mobility in our MLIS program, the Information School is offering, free of charge, three separate workshops covering Network Resources, Communication/Collaboration Tools, and Presentation Tools on Monday/September 21, or Tuesday/September 22. All workshops are held in Mary Gates Hall 430. The schedule is as follows both days:
Workshops running Mon/Sept 21 and Tues/Sept 22 in MGH 430:
*Choose to attend one of each session, on either Sept. 21 or 22, or opt out of any (or all sessions) if you already know the material.
Network Resources: 9:00 am-11:00 am
Communication/Collaboration Tools: 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Presentation Tools: 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Students are expected to "hit the ground running," in our courses, so it is essential that you attend any workshop covering content where you are unfamiliar with the tools and resources covered. For those who feel this preparation is not necessary, they may opt out of attending the workshops and take responsibility in covering the material on their own.
RSVP by September 10 by visiting https://catalysttools.washington.edu/webq/survey/dlis/78313. You **must** have your UWNetID and password to access the registration page. Space is limited to 35 seats for each workshop. All requests will be approved or denied via email. ALL students must complete the registration survey and indicate the time they will attend the workshop OR opt out of attending the workshops take responsibility to cover the material themselves.
