Curriculum Map
*Take at least one social science/Individuals & Societies course in these preferred fields of study.
Prepare...
- Take courses that develop strong analytical, qualitative, and quantitative reasoning skills for the technical courses in the major.
- Take courses in the social science fields, especially ones that develop written and oral communication skills for the human-centered courses in the major.
- Although the Informatics major does not require a math course as a prerequisite, we encourage students to develop mathematical and analytical skills. This preparation will help with the computational reasoning and algorithmic thinking required in later in the program. (Most of our students have taken at least an applied calculus course.)
- Engage in opportunities to develop technical skills and knowledge (e.g., as a hobby, participation in organizations, part-time jobs, etc.).
