An Evolving Curriculum for an Evolving Field

Throughout its history, structural changes to the curriculum have been implemented as a response to evolving practice. The program faculty and advisory board work to identify trends in technology that can be integrated into the curriculum.

In 2008, the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Information Architecture (IA) degree options were also added to provide more focus to the major. Additional degree options are being considered.

Throughout its history, Informatics has been preparing professionals to exhibit leadership and empowering students to pursue their professional and personal goals, and this innovating spirit remains a defining aspect of the major.
