Nancy Gershenfeld brings over 20 years experience in the information industry to the iSchool. Her teaching and mentoring focus on management issues, and the special library and other non-traditional information environments. She teaches in the areas of management, information resources and services.
As the online coordinator for the research More...firm of FIND/SVP, Nancy specialized in demographic and consumer marketing research, and designed and implemented an in-house online search training program for information specialists. She then moved on to database administration for a Seattle law firm's automated litigation support unit where she supervised the design, creation and maintenance of case document and testimony databases. At the Microsoft Corporation, she managed the day-to-day operations of the Microsoft Library, including systems development, and later oversaw budgets, staffing, metrics, contracts, and vendor relations for the umbrella Information Services group
Nancy holds a BA in History from the University of Maryland (1979) and an MLS from the University of Washington (1991).
