Dr. Stuart Sutton’s research areas include metadata and networked information discovery and retrieval, technology-mediated teaching and learning, cognition and the information seeking behavior of discourse communities, mental models in information system design, and the law and policy of intellectual property. Associate Professor Sutton received his MLIS (1986) and PhD (1991) degrees from the University of California at Berkeley School of Library and Information Studies. He is a member of the California Bar and received his JD (1981) from Golden Gate University School of Law and his LLM in copyright from the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law. He holds BA (1968) and MA (1968) degrees in theatre arts from San Francisco State University.
